Triumph Motorcycles’ all new Tiger 900 and Scrambler 1200 will feature in the 25th James Bond film No Time To Die, released April 2020
Triumph Motorcycles is incredibly proud to announce a new partnership with the 25th official James Bond film, No Time To Die, and EON Productions. The Triumph design workshop team collaborated with the stunt team from the film to configure several feature motorcycles, including the special preparation of Tiger 900 and Scrambler 1200 models for extreme and dynamic action sequences.
Triumph’s CEO Nick Bloor said; “Here at Triumph we are delighted to partner with the latest James Bond film, No Time To Die. Triumph Motorcycles is fortunate to have a rich history of featuring in many incredible blockbuster films, so the big screen is no stranger to our brand. We know that our motorcycles are hugely capable and we cannot wait to see them in action when the film airs, including the new and eagerly anticipated Tiger 900 model.”
James Bond stunt coordinator Lee Morrison said; “Triumph gave us early Tiger 900 prototypes before launch so we could film in 3 key locations well before the bike’s official reveal. I have to say that we have literally thrown everything at them. Big craggy sharp rocks, deep boggy mud, high speeds, big jumps and huge climbs and descents across a variety of conditions. The Tigers really have stood up to the task incredibly well, with no mechanical issues, and to me this really proves their go-anywhere credentials.”
No Time To Die, will be released globally from April 2, 2020 in the U.K. through Universal Pictures International and in the U.S on April 10, from Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios via their United Artists Releasing banner.

The world’s longest running adventure bike story
The Triumph Tiger has an incredibly rich history, with a bloodline of dedicated off-road models spanning the last 80+ years. Starting in 1936 with the first Tiger competition models, the Tiger name has played a significant role in establishing the adventure category – from racing, to rallies, and to the birth and boom in adventure travel.
Launched in 2010, the Tiger 800 established a leading position in the middleweight adventure segment with its neutral and precise handling, torque rich triple engine, and accessibility to all riders. And in January 2018, during the development programme for the new model, the ‘Tiger Tramontana’ gave viewers of the gruelling Pan-Africa rally a very early hint of the aggressive new styling and poise of the new Tiger 900.
All-new more powerful and responsive 900cc Euro 5 compliant triple engine with
innovative new configuration
The all-new higher capacity and higher performance 900cc engine is now fully Euro 5 compliant, and has a new unique 1,3,2 firing order for greater character and feel. The result is improved intake noise under load, more feedback from the engine to the rider, an incredibly distinctive engine sound, and improved tractability and throttle feel, pulling harder, lower down. The result of that is a much closer association to the throttle character, sound and feel of a twin lower down, whilst maintaining all the torque, feel and delivery in the mid-range and top-end of a triple.
The new engine delivers a massive 10% more peak torque than the previous Tiger 800 models, now 87Nm at 7,250rpm, with improved torque low down and across the rev range. Power is also up across the entire rev range, with 9% more in the mid-range, and 95PS peak power at 8,750rpm.
Combined, this delivers more responsive acceleration, with 0-60mph, 0-110mph and 6th gear roll on times all significantly beating the previous generation model and the closest competition. Additionally, it gives the new Tiger 900 a much more aggressive, raspy and engaging triple soundtrack.
An all-new twin radiator set up is mass optimised with a reduced coolant volume. This improves cooling performance, and reduces the ambient heat felt by the rider. The new radiator style enhances the new models’ more striking adventure bike stance and poise. Its shape and position enable a further forward engine position, resulting in a more optimised centre of gravity (40mm forward and 20mm lower). This improves weight distribution for better handling and low speed balance, whilst other improvements to the sump and cooling system ensure it has no impact on ground clearance.
There’s also an all-new air box with a more easily accessible new air filter, plus a slip and assist clutch for added rider comfort.
Significantly lighter, all-new benchmark-setting chassis
Now up to 5kg lighter than the previous generation model, the new generation 900 delivers the most commanding and agile Tiger ride ever. The new steel trellis frame is not only lighter, but now has a modular construction, with bolt-on aluminium rear sub-frame and bolt-on pillion hangers, delivering the most adventure-centric set-up ever for off-road focused riding.
There is a very high specification of suspension across the new 900 range with premium Marzocchi or Showa components tailored to deliver the ultimate capability for the benchmark-setting new middleweight adventure bikes.
For maximum rider convenience and comfort, the GT Pro model features segment-leading electronically adjustable rear suspension, allowing the rider to adjust the rear preload and damping settings via a dedicated menu in the TFT instruments. Riders can select from nine levels of damping control, ranging from Comfort (softest) to Sport (firmest), and four preload set-ups.
All of the new Tiger 900 models now feature category-leading Brembo Stylema® brakes for superior stopping power. These are lightweight, compact, carefully sculpted and high performing calipers, with reduced volume around the pistons and brake pads, reducing the internal space occupied by brake fluid, delivering a more immediate braking response. Increased airflow around the brake pads also helps the calipers to cool quicker.
This combination of new lightweight modular frame, new lighter weight engine, high specification suspension and premium Brembo brakes delivers a step change in agility and capability, ensuring exceptional handling in all riding scenarios.
Long distance travel has been improved on the new Tiger 900 range, with a new larger 20 litre fuel tank and new adjustable screen, delivering superior wind protection with a simple single-handed adjustment.
Ergonomics are also improved for the new models, optimised for rider comfort when touring, off-roading and anything in between. The seat width is narrower, and the handlebars are 10mm closer, giving a more comfortable upright riding position, and a greater level of rider control when static and on the move. Additionally, each model has a dedicated and unique footrest position to suit the expected style of riding, and a built-in easily adjustable two-position seat height mechanism. This enables the rider to change the seat height by 20mm to their preferred set-up.
All-new state-of-the-art ride-enhancing technology
The new Tiger 900 range features a significant step forward in its ride-enhancing technology, with state-of-the-art features including:
- New class-leading 7” TFT instruments (GT & GT Pro, Rally & Rally Pro only) – Featuring dedicated Tiger start-up logos, the new larger TFT instruments present rider information in four different styles with complete clarity. There are also four different colour options to choose from and high/low contrast versions for excellent visibility in all lights. The 7” TFT screen is now bonded to the glass for a crisper image, with no reflective layer.
(The base Tiger 900 model features 5” TFT high contrast instruments)
- New My Triumph connectivity system and app (GT Pro & Rally Pro only) – With TFT instrument styles designed specifically for connectivity, the integrated My Triumph connectivity system and app seamlessly enable phone call and music operation, turn-by-turn navigation, and GoPro control – all accessed via the switch cubes and displayed on the 7” TFT screen.
(The My Triumph connectivity system is available as an accessory option on the GT and Rally models, including a dedicated Bluetooth® connectivity module)
- New optimised cornering ABS and traction control, with IMU (GT & GT Pro, Rally & Rally Pro only) – New optimised cornering ABS and optimised cornering traction control comes as standard on the mid and top spec new Tiger 900s, and is enabled via an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) developed in conjunction with Continental. This supports the automatic selection of the appropriate level of ABS and traction control intervention by constantly measuring roll, pitch, yaw and acceleration rates, in order to calculate the lean angle. This fully integrated technology system ensures greater riding stability at all times.
- Up to six riding modes – Riding modes adjust throttle response, ABS and traction control settings for maximum rider control in all riding conditions. The new anti-stall feature on the Off-Road and Off-Road Pro modes automatically increases the idle revs to prevent stalling. The Off-Road Pro riding mode, exclusive to the Rally Pro model, is Triumph’s most extreme off-road set-up for advanced off-road adventure, with ABS and traction control turned off, and an off-road throttle map.

All-new aggressive Tiger style with more dominant adventure-focused stance
All-new aggressive styling, re-designed smaller-scale bodywork, revised finishes and cleaner lines give the new Tiger 900 a more distinctive and dominant adventure stance. This is supported by the narrow stand over width, the visually lighter front end and the dominant fuel tank design and size.
The all-new bodywork has a more focused and aggressive adventure style, and includes fuel tank, tank end panel, high mudguard, seat panel, radiator cowl and radiator duct exit. The finish and detailing is also improved to its highest ever level, making the Tiger 900 the new benchmark for quality.

BUD EKINS – DESERT RACER. STUNT RIDER. GENUINE MOTORCYCLE LEGEND.
Born in Los Angeles in 1930, Bud Ekins learned to ride in the nearby Hollywood Hills, honing his off-road skills long before he could legally ride on the road. Luckily, California was host to a thriving off-road racing fraternity and even by his late teenage years he earned a mighty reputation as one of SoCal’s top motocross and desert racers.
By the time US Triumph superdealer Bill Johnson provided Ekins with a TR5 Trophy, on which he won the Catalina Grand Prix, Ekins knows well that in Triumph he has found a manufacturer that builds the kind of strong, fast and light motorcycles with all the agility, responsiveness and power that he yearns for.
Ekins’ success in the mid-fifties coincided with Triumph’s emergence as a major player in world motorcycling, with both parties playing their roles in re-defining what a motorcycle was capable of. Triumph’s famous managing director and design chief, Edward Turner, continued to develop incredible Triumph twin engine motorcycles which were becoming increasingly powerful, efficient and reliable. Johnny Allen held the 1955 and 1956 motorcycle land speed world records using Triumph factory engines, and Ekins was forging a lasting alliance with Triumph motorcycles that would ultimately see him regarded as America’s top off-road racer and also a celebrated Triumph dealership owner.
In 1956, when Ekins finished 2nd in the 153-mile off-road Californian Big Bear Motorcycle Run, the first-, second- and third-placed riders were all on Triumph TR6 Trophy motorcycles. Triumph’s racing domination was such that when Ekins won the same race the next year, 20 of the top 25 finishers were all on Triumphs.
TOP US DEALERSHIP
Shrewdly understanding the massive potential and performance superiority of Triumph motorcycles in the context of an emerging popularity for the more reliable, lightweight and powerful British bikes, Ekins’ racing successes led him to open a Triumph dealership in North Hollywood.
It quickly became a magnet for many young up-and-coming movie actors including Paul Newman, Clint Eastwood and Steve McQueen. Ekins lived and breathed Triumph motorcycles and selling them seemed to come naturally, leading to considerable business success to go with his considerable racing achievements.
STEVE McQUEEN
One local motorcycle enthusiast at that time was Hollywood’s legend Steve McQueen. His favourite early bike was his TR5 Trophy, serviced by none other than Ekins’ dealership where the pair struck up an instant rapport. Ekins introduced McQueen to the burgeoning Californian desert racing scene and McQueen was instantly hooked on this exciting underground movement, spending as much time as he could either hooning across the dunes or just enjoying the anonymous normality of passing time with Ekins and his riding buddies back at the dealership.
In spite of the demands of running a successful Triumph dealership, Ekins was still racing, successfully competing in several off-road races including the Hare and Hound, Mint 400 and Baja 1000 (which he helped establish). McQueen often joined him to race, often using another name to withhold his identity to organisers and other competitors. He was a fast learner and a fast rider, and as Ekins was such a highly regarded rider who had previously represented the US in the incredibly high profile International Six Days Trial, regarded as the Olympics of motorcycling, he facilitated McQueen’s famous entry to ride for the US team in the 1964 East German ISDT – both on Triumphs. Ekins would go on to win an impressive four ISDT Gold Medals in just seven years.
THE GREAT ESCAPE
In autumn 1962, McQueen was preparing to fly to Europe for filming what would become one of the following year’s highest grossing movies, The Great Escape. McQueen pushed for motorcycle stunt riding in the film and recommended his good friend Bud Ekins to the producers. Ekins was employed on a four-month contract, though it took far less than that for McQueen (with Ekins’ help) to conceive of and rewrite the dramatic highlight to his character’s storyline.
McQueen’s character, Captain Virgil Hilts has escaped a prisoner of war camp, commandeered a bike, and is being chased through stunning meadows in an attempt to locate the Swiss border. As enemy soldiers close in, Hilts must desperately make a spectacular motorcycle jump over a high barbed wire fence, and thereafter reach the relative safety of neutral Switzerland.
Between them, using small trial and error practice jumps, McQueen and Ekins worked out the capabilities of their favourite off-road choice, a 650cc Triumph TR6 Trophy, to squeeze maximum dramatic effect from the scene. They calculated that an 80mph run-up was required to clear a raised twelve-foot barbed-wire fence onto an inclined landing area around 60ft away. All on grass. McQueen was sensibly prevented, by the movie’s insurers from performing the stunt himself, much to his frustration, so Ekins stepped in.
The jump is one of the most iconic moments in Hollywood movie history which still lives on in this way today. In 1962 a TR6 Trophy would redline at 6,000rpm with peak power at around 42bhp, but the powerful Triumph engine’s responsiveness and the torque from the parallel twin made it McQueen and Ekins’s first choice, and the restored bike on which Ekins successfully completed the jump as seen in the movie is currently on show at Triumph Motorcycles’ Factory Visitor Experience at Hinckley, which is open free of charge to the public.
HOLLYWOOD STUNT RIDER
Bud Ekins’ racing success and friendships opened up a new career path. As ‘that jump’ gained distinction as the most famous motorcycle stunt ever seen in a movie, the demand for Ekins as a stunt rider increased. Considered one of the best in Hollywood, he’d continued performing movie stunts for the next 30 years or so, happily returning to continue his dealership business in between filming responsibilities.
BONNEVILLE T120
1200cc High Torque engine
The authentic character of the Bonneville T120 comes to life through the 1200cc high torque
8 valve, parallel Bonneville twin engine.
Built specifically for the modern classic riding style, with immediate and exciting torque delivery, it produces a peak torque figure of 105Nm at a low 3,100 rpm – an amazing 54% more than the previous air cooled Bonneville T100 generation.
With the pinpoint accuracy and instant throttle response of Triumph’s next generation ride-by-wire fuel-injection and engine management system, the six-speed 1200cc Bonneville engine is engineered with a charismatic tone and 270° firing interval for characterful, linear power delivery.
The engine profile has been beautifully crafted to incorporate key heritage styling cues from the legendary 60’s Bonneville bikes, sensitively incorporating contemporary components to maintain that iconic engine silhouette.
Behind the 1200 engine’s stylish exterior sits a cutting-edge liquid cooling system, carefully integrated to minimise its visual impact whilst achieving cleaner emissions and enhancing fuel efficiency – 13% better than the previous air-cooled generation. This, combined with an extended service interval of 10,000 miles (16,000km) dramatically reduces the overall cost of ownership.
Finally, elegant peashooter style exhausts follow a clean ‘straight line run’ achieved through an ingenious twin skin design that covers the pipe run through the cat box and out again. It delivers the true sound of a British twin, with a deep and rich exhaust note that truly matches the T120 character, tuned to a level you would want and expect.
Modern capability
The Bonneville T120 Bud Ekins Edition shares all of the T120’s advanced standard of capability, with a wealth of rider-focused technology to deliver exceptional control, safety and enhanced rider confidence – integrated sensitively and without compromise to maintain the authentic Bonneville style and character.
Including:
ABS Triumph’s variable anti-lock braking system brings
a new level of safety and control to the Bonneville.
Ride-by-wire For enhanced throttle responsiveness, safety, feel
and fuel economy.
Traction control Taking advantage of the ride-by-wire system the switchable traction control system offers increased and optimised control.
Two riding modes Linked to the ride-by-wire system the two selectable
riding mode options ‘Road’ and ‘Rain’ provide the rider
with greater control and safety.

for easy access to the key features on the twin clocks.
Relaxed and refined handling
The Bonneville T120 features a chassis and suspension set-up developed for relaxed and refined riding every day, all day, alone or with a pillion.

With its relaxed riding position, centre stand and passenger grab rail, the Bud Ekins Bonneville T120 Special Edition is fully equipped for maximum comfort and real world practicality.
Original styling
Inspired by the legendary ’59 Bonneville, the new Bonneville T120 has been crafted to incorporate more of the original’s DNA and iconic styling cues, detailing and features.
From the overall Bonneville silhouette, to the sculpted flowing lines of the fuel tank, the intricately detailed badges, lights and stunning twin clocks, the T120 is a timeless icon, beautifully evolved.
BONNEVILLE T100
900cc High Torque engine
Offering all the quality, performance, capability and comfort expected of the modern Bonneville family, the T100 is powered by the critically acclaimed Bonneville 900cc, ‘high torque’ 8 valve, parallel twin engine that offers more torque, better fuel economy and a richer, deeper exhaust note than the previous air cooled generation.
Specifically tuned to achieve high torque low down, it produces a peak torque figure of 80Nm at 3200 rpm – an increase of 18% on the previous air cooled generation Bonneville T100 for a more thrilling and engaging ride.
With enhanced throttle response from Triumph’s ride-by-wire fuel injection and a slick five-speed gearbox the T100 is engineered to deliver a 270° firing interval for a smooth, linear power delivery. The original cafe racer
Born from the racing success of the original Bonneville, the original Thruxton played a major part in the birth of motorcycle motorsport on both sides of the Atlantic.
Starting with the legendary Thruxton 500 race series of the late 50s – where the racing ‘Bonnie’ first got its name – the ‘Thruxton’ was a dominating force, with the first top step coming courtesy of British legend Mike Hailwood. In 1969, Malcolm Uphill won the production race at the Isle of Man TT, cracking the 100 mph average lap for the first time onboard a production Thruxton model. In the 1960s, on the road it had also become the bike of choice, inspiring a generation of teenage cafe racers.
Across three significant generations, the Thruxton has maintained its position as the original cafe racer, encapsulating all the style, attitude and key hallmarks. In 2016, Triumph launched to international acclaim a completely new generation of this iconic racing name the Thruxton R – the Ultimate Cafe Racer. A truly modern roadster designed to literally live up to legend, with real poise, real power and real performance complemented with unique finishes, detailing and the highest level of engine and suspension specification.
The new Thruxton RS will be available for retail from March 2020 with the UK price set at £13,000
We are pleased to confirm that Triumph is introducing a new model to the classic range – The all-new Thruxton RS. This exciting new model is the evolution of the iconic legend. The all-new Thruxton RS delivers all the hallmarks of the previous generation Thruxton R and sets a new category benchmark with more power, better handling and much more contemporary style whilst retaining that genuine café racer DNA.

Category-defining from the very beginning
Light, fast, fun, agile and stylish – the Street Triple has been a game-changing bike in the motorcycle world since its launch in 2007 with its distinctive character and thrilling triple engine. It redefined the middleweight sports category, establishing itself as the first choice for its combination of aggressive looks, light intuitive handling, thrilling power delivery, and its unique triple soundtrack.
Evolving from its renowned 675cc triple to an even more exhilarating 765cc in 2017, the Street Triple once again redefined the category, becoming the lightest bike in class, with all new state-of-the-art technology, high specification chassis and Triumph’s signature exceptional standard of finish and detailing.
And now, for 2020, the new Street Triple RS has been designed to set the benchmark all over again with a major step up in performance, much more aggressive attitude and even better ride-enhancing technology. Combined with its trademark agile, dynamic handling, and high specification suspension, brakes and tyres, the new Street Triple RS is perfect for the street and the track.
A major step up in performance – more power, more torque
For a major step up in performance, the new Street Triple RS benefits from a significant Euro 5 update to its characterful 765cc triple engine, developed by Triumph’s expert Moto2TM engine team. The result is a significant increase in torque, which is now 9% higher in the mid-range, peaking at an even higher 79Nm at 9,350rpm. The new exhaust balance pipe smooths the torque curve for exciting, usable torque from low down and across the entire rev range.
Power is also up by 9% in the mid-range, peaking at 123PS at 11,750rpm, making the new Street Triple RS a totally addictive ride. Engine updates include a new exhaust cam optimised for more mid-range performance, and new higher precision machining on the crank shaft, clutch and balancer, which lowers inertia and reduces engine mass.
The throttle is also now even more responsive, as a result of a 7% reduction in rotational inertia, which, combined with the increase in torque across the rev range, delivers a notable improvement in immediacy.
There is also a new silencer on the Street Triple RS, which is now freer flowing due to the twin catalyst system, reducing restriction and lowering emissions. It’s finished off beautifully with a premium sporty carbon fibre end cap, which delivers a significantly improved, more distinctive triple sound. This comes from the exhaust system refinements and the all new intake duct, which together improves the crispness and purity of the tone, with a smoother balance between intake and silencer sound.
The smooth, refined gearbox on the new Street Triple RS has short 1st and 2nd gear ratios, delivering exceptional acceleration performance and slick gear changes. Higher precision machining also enables the removal of the anti-backlash gears, reducing mass and adding further refinement. Plus, the Street Triple RS retains its high specification slip and assist clutch, for a really light feel, reducing clutch lever effort and improving rider comfort and control.
Much more aggressive attitude, poise and style
Now with a significant update to its iconic styling, the new Street Triple RS has a much more aggressive new look. The LED headlights are all new, with a striking new shape and a sharper and more purposeful style. They are also now whiter and brighter, making them much more conspicuous. The Daytime Running Lights (DRLs – market applicable) have an all new, even more distinctive design, which also increases visibility.
The new Street Triple RS now has all new bodywork, which is more angular, more sporty, and with much cleaner lines. The new fly screen and air intake are now more pronounced, echoing the shape of the new DRL, plus the side panels, rear unit, seat cowl and belly pan are all new and distinctly different.
The silencer has also been restyled for the 2020 model, to be more sporty and compact, with a beautiful carbon fibre finisher with Triumph badge branding. Plus, there’s enhanced detailing across the whole motorcycle, with new contemporary mirrors, a new branded handlebar clamp, and more harmonised component finishes, including blacked out control plates and rear footrest hangers, plus satin metal heel guards and silencer finish. And, being the top of the range, the Street Triple RS has the highest level of finish of all the Street Triples. Now with a new Titanium Silver main frame, matching the finish used on the Speed Triple models.
For even more contemporary style, the new Street Triple RS is presented in two different colour schemes: Matt Jet Black with Aluminium Silver and Yellow decals, or Silver Ice with Diablo Red and Aluminium Silver decals. Both paint scheme options include hand-painted Diablo Red wheel pinstripes and an Aluminium Silver rear sub-frame.
Even better technology
On top of its already exceptionally high standard of technology, which leads the category, the new Street Triple RS now features an even better technology specification. The TFT system now has enhanced functionality with the MyTriumph connectivity system software installed and enabled, ready to be used with the accessory-fit Bluetooth module. This enables GoPro interaction, turn-by-turn navigation and phone and music operation via the ergonomically optimised switch cubes, and displayed on the TFT screen. It also features new style 2nd generation graphic schemes, in four different styles, and four different colours. The TFT screen angle can be adjusted for optimum visibility to suit rider height.
The latest Triumph Shift Assist, up and down quickshifter, has also now been added as standard to the new Street Triple RS, making the bike much more capable, particularly on track. This enables smooth comfortable gear changes while maintaining the accelerator position, which reduces rider fatigue.
The five improved riding modes (Road, Rain, Sport, Track and Rider configurable) have now been optimised to suit the bike’s higher level of performance, for maximum rider control. These modes adjust throttle response, ABS and traction control settings, and can easily be selected whilst riding. Rain mode restricts power to 100PS for enhanced safety and control.
Complementing the new technology, the Street Triple RS retains its extremely high level of standard specification, including ride-by-wire, adjustable ABS and switchable traction control.

It also has the lightest wheels in the class, contributing to the Street Triple’s agility and precise, engaged handling.
The iconic gullwing swingarm delivers torsional stiffness and lateral flexibility, which maximises stability at higher speed, while its optimised pivot position provides natural resistance to compressing the RSU under hard acceleration. Together these enable tight corner exits and the Street Triple’s precise chassis behaviour.
Suspension is extremely high specification on the new Street Triple RS, with fully adjustable 41mm Showa big piston front forks, with 115mm travel, and fully adjustable Öhlins STX40 piggyback reservoir monoshock rear suspension unit, with 131mm rear wheel travel.

THE BIGGEST PRODUCTION MOTORCYCLE ENGINE IN THE WORLD
Both new Rocket 3 models are equipped with the all-new 2,500cc triple engine, which offers even higher capacity and performance than its predecessor – for amazing acceleration and all-day any-gear effortless riding, two-up or on your own.
The new Rocket 3 engine brings an amazing step up in peak power with 167 PS @ 6,000 rpm, which is 11% up on its predecessor. With more power from a low 3,500rpm, and all the way up to a higher red line of 7,000rpm, the new Rocket 3 delivers a staggering level of performance.
The Rocket 3 engine also has the highest torque figure of any production motorcycle, with 221 Nm – an astounding 71% more than its closest competition. With an incredibly flat and rich torque curve, reaching a peak at 4,000rpm, it holds maximum torque all the way through the mid-range, delivering effortless acceleration and response in any gear.
This is the world’s biggest production motorcycle engine featuring several mass optimised performance enhancements; including a new crankcase assembly, new lubrication system comprising dry sump and integral oil tank and new balancer shafts – together giving an 18kg engine weight saving over the previous generation.
The distinctive hydroformed three-header exhaust run is an iconic design detail on both the Rocket 3 R and Rocket 3 GT. This has been innovatively engineered for the perfect exhaust routing, flowing from the header into the combined cat box and onto the triple exit silencer, delivering a distinctive and unique deep growling triple Rocket soundtrack.
For exceptional levels of rider comfort and a commanding level of control over the Rocket 3’s powerful performance, a new ’torque assist’ hydraulic clutch provides the rider with a light clutch action by reducing lever effort . Furthermore, the Rocket 3’s all-new high-performance six-speed helical-cut gearbox is precision-engineered to be smoother, stronger and lighter than a standard gearbox, and is designed specifically to allow for the increased torque capacity of this new generation.
Just like all the latest range of Triumphs, the Rocket 3 engine delivers modern capability with ride-by-wire throttle, as well as a sensitively incorporated liquid cooling system for enhanced performance and an even more efficient ride.
Both Rocket 3 models feature a high first major service interval of 10,000 miles/16,000 km.
PURE MUSCULAR PRESENCE AND MAGNIFICENT STYLE
With beautifully distinctive details, such as the new signature twin LED headlight, including Triumph maker’s mark triangle branding and the sculpted 3-header exhaust run, the new Rocket 3 line-up has an incredibly imposing poise and stance.
In addition, the all-new lightweight multi-spoke cast aluminium wheels enhance the muscular contemporary style, with the Rocket 3 R’s wheels featuring a beautiful blacked-out finish, while the Rocket 3 GT model goes one step further with exposed machining on rim and spokes. Both models are also fitted with Avon Cobra Chrome tyres, developed especially for the new Rocket 3, with an imposing 240mm rear wheel width. The new tyres have exquisite detailing, and both feature a new tread pattern developed for great grip and high mileage durability.
Contributing to the Rocket 3’s clean, uncluttered styling are the beautifully engineered single-sided swingarm, with offset monoshock suspension and high-value finishing on the bevel box, The stylish internally wired handlebars further reinforce the bike’s muscular feel and commanding riding position. The Rocket 3 R model features roadster-style handlebars, while the Rocket 3 GT model has touring-oriented handlebars enhancing its touring comfort and capability.
Both new Rocket 3 models come with a sculpted rider and pillion saddle, featuring cast aluminium finishers under the seat and creating a unique flowing line through the bike. The set-up for each Rocket 3 has been designed to be easily changed from twin to single seat set-up with optional addition of an accessory infill pad available to further enhance the single seat look. The Rocket 3 R features a roadster rider and pillion saddle, with a low 773mm seat height, while the Rocket 3 GT features a touring rider and pillion saddle set-up with an even more accessible 750mm seat height. The Rocket 3 GT additionally benefits from a brushed aluminium pillion backrest.
For maximum comfort for every rider, each Rocket 3 model offers a range of rider-adjustable ergonomics. The mid-foot controls of the Rocket 3 R have two vertical position settings to choose from (0mm / -15mm), while the Rocket 3 GT offers feet-forward foot controls with three horizontal position choices (-25mm / 0mm / +25mm), and also a height adjustable pillion backrest.
The new Rocket 3 range also benefits from Triumph’s class-defining level of finish and detailing, contributing to its magnificent style. These beautiful features include a muscular sculpted fuel tank with Triumph’s signature design DNA, brushed stainless steel tank strap and beautiful aluminium Monza-style cap, brushed aluminium air-box cover, brushed aluminium Monza-style coolant and oil caps, machined fins on the crankcases, head and cam cover, brushed exhaust heat shields and end caps, and elegant hidden folding pillion footrests with unique foldaway design.

The system applies the rear brake until sensing that the rider is starting to move off, and is activated using the front brake lever. The feature is switchable via the bike set-up menu. - Cruise Control
Electronic cruise control is fitted as standard to both Rocket 3 models. This feature reduces rider fatigue over long journeys and can be easily accessed while riding

There is also the ability to disable the key’s wireless transmission function at the touch of a button for even greater security. - Heated grips
Heated grips are also fitted as standard to the Rocket 3 GT, and are available as an accessory on the Rocket 3 R. These are neatly integrated with a button on the left hand grip providing greater rider comfort, with two modes. - USB charging
Both new Rocket 3s feature a 5V USB power socket under the seat, for charging
personal equipment.
High specification optional accessories

The feature can be fitted to both Rocket 3 models as an accessory. - World’s first integrated GoPro control system
The new Rocket 3 motorcycles come ready to be fitted with the ground-breaking motorcycle integrated GoPro control system, which is only available from Triumph. LANDMARK TESTING WEEKEND AT JEREZ
- Two testing laps completed inside previous recorded Jerez circuit Moto2 TM fastest lap
- Team feedback – “We are ready for 2019 season”
On 23rd-25th November Triumph attended the final testing weekend of 2018 at Jerez race track, with 2019 Moto2 race teams trialling their new race bikes ahead of next season.
On Saturday 24th, two 2019 Moto2 championship contenders riding different machines, both featuring the new 2019 Triumph triple 765cc race engine, recorded practice lap times inside the fastest recorded lap of Jerez Circuit of 1 minute 41 seconds (1’41.890). This is a landmark achievement in one of the first times the riders have ridden 2019 season race bikes in their new configurations.
On Sunday, it was predicted that riders would go even faster, but weather conditions prevented this. All teams used the full weekend on track to complete more testing, development and set up ahead of the forthcoming 2019 Moto2 race season.
Steve Sargent, Triumph Chief Product Officer said; “This weekend feels like the culmination of 2 years of hard work by many people in Triumph. To hear all the bikes out on track at the same time is a dream come true for Triumph. We had direct and overwhelmingly positive feedback from the teams at Jerez as they gear up for the 2019 season. Bring on Qatar!”.
