A legend re-born

Changing the face of motorcycling, the original 1938 Triumph Speed Twin, with the world’s first successful parallel twin engine packaged into a game changing chassis, was a revelation to ride. Its smooth dynamic handling and superb responsive feel established Triumph as the number one motorcycle marque globally for performance and handling, setting the template for all that followed, and earning a global reputation for being the first real ‘riders bike’.

For 2019, the all-new 1200cc Speed Twin re-introduces this illustrious Triumph name to our Modern Classics line-up, setting all over again a new standard in class-leading handling, and delivering a new benchmark for how a modern custom roadster should ride and feel.

The brand new Speed Twin carries all of the contemporary custom style of the Street Twin but adds even more beautiful premium details. It delivers all the power, torque and technology of the Thruxton R, in an even more accessible modern set-up. And, it offers all of the confidence inspiring ride and rider comfort of the Bonneville T120, but with even more engaged ergonomics.

The result, just like its iconic 20th century namesake, is a new performance icon that sets a whole new standard, with the chassis set-up, riding position, braking ability, suspension, and thrilling power delivery of a truly modern roadster.

Class leading handling

The all-new Speed Twin brings a new standard for class leading handling, with a precise, agile and dynamic modern roadster ride, and a confidence inspiring, intuitive feel.

The dedicated new frame developed from the Thruxton R delivers comfortable engaged roadster ergonomics, which combined with the high specification cartridge front forks and twin rear suspension units with adjustable spring pre-load, make for a truly unparalleled ride.

High specification twin Brembo 4-piston axial calipers on the front with twin discs, and a 2-piston floating caliper and single disc on the rear, provide excellent stopping power, complementing the motorcycle’s modern roadster character.

Adding to the confidence inspiring ride, the new Speed Twin also benefits from:

  • 17 inch, lightweight 7 spoke cast aluminium wheels
  • High specification Pirelli Rosso Corsa 3 tyres
  • ABS and switchable traction control as standard
  • Comfortable, upright, engaged riding position
  • Tapered handlebars and new upper yoke and risers
  • A comfortable new bench seat at a low height of 807mm,
making the bike accessible for all riders
  • A significant 10 kilogram weight saving compared to the Thruxton,
contributing to its class leading handling.

Thrilling performance

The modern roadster character comes to life through its 1200cc High Power 8 valve, parallel twin Bonneville engine, specifically updated for the new Speed Twin.

This revised high performance engine features a low inertia crank and high compression head, and is developed from the Thruxton R’s powerplant.

Engine updates include:

  • New magnesium cam cover
  • Revised clutch assembly
  • New mass optimised engine covers

Together these deliver a unique 2.5kg weight saving versus the Thruxton engine. With 97PS peak power @ 6,750rpm, the new Speed Twin achieves an impressive 76% increase over the 2016/17 Street Twin, and 49% more than the 2018 Street Twin.

Additionally the new Speed Twin engine also delivers a strong peak torque figure of 112 Nm @ 4,950rpm – an amazing 40% more than the 2018 Street Twin.

The Speed Twin’s all new distinctive twin upswept silencers, with satin black painted wrap
and stainless steel end caps deliver the unmistakable sound of a British Twin, a unique exhaust note that matches its powerful and legendary character – rich, deep and full.

Behind the stylish exterior sits a liquid cooling system, carefully integrated to minimise its visual impact whilst achieving clean emissions and enhancing fuel efficiency. Combined with an extended first major service interval of 10,000 miles (16,000km), this contributes to a reduced overall cost of ownership.

THE ORIGINAL SCRAMBLERS & GENESIS FOR TODAY’S SCRAMBLER SCENE

Born from an unparalleled blood line, the new Scrambler 1200 line-up can trace its roots directly back to the original Scrambler scene in the early 1960’s, where Triumph played a pivotal role and set the template for what made a scrambler great.

Building the leading bikes of the day, stripped back with straight-through ‘twin pipes’ fitted high or low slung and chopped off – Triumphs were the original and real desert sleds. These inspired the world’s first production scramblers, with the Bonneville T-120TT, T120C and the TR6’C’. And these were the bikes that Steve McQueen took to the desert, that Bud Ekins raced and won on in the dirt, and that competed in the most challenging desert race of all time – the Baja 1000.

In 2006, with the launch of the very first ‘modern era’ Scrambler, Triumph again delivered the genesis of a new category. This triggered the world of Scramblers we see today and a whole new global fan base, from urban riders to movie stars, all in love with that iconic Triumph scrambler style and timeless silhouette.

TWO BENCHMARK SETTING NEW SCRAMBLER 1200s

Two all-new models comprise the Triumph Scrambler 1200 line-up. The Scrambler 1200 XC, which is built for the road and for real off-road riding fun, and the range-topping Scrambler 1200 XE, which takes the specification to the highest level and its off-road capability and scrambling credentials to the very top of the motorcycling world.

THRILLING PERFORMANCE

Both new Scramblers deliver category leading torque and a dedicated ‘scrambler tune’ courtesy of the latest generation Bonneville High Power 1200cc engine. The charismatic 270° firing interval ensures a smooth, linear power delivery from the slick six-speed gearbox.

Evolved specifically for the Scrambler, the 1200 engine provides 90 PS @ 7,400 rpm, which is 12.5% more power than the Bonneville T120 and an incredible 38% more than the 2019 Street Scrambler.

Additionally, the Scrambler 1200 power plant is tuned to deliver ‘high torque’ off-road and on, low down and across the mid-range, with peak torque of 110Nm at a low 3,950 rpm. This is also greater that the Street Scrambler by 37.5%.

Delivering the Scrambler soundtrack is a beautifully crafted twin high level exhaust system with stainless steel headers and brushed stainless steel silencers for a deep punchy scrambler sound.

Just like all the new generation Bonnevilles, the Scrambler 1200 engine delivers leading modern classic capability with ride-by-wire, as well as a sensitively incorporated liquid cooling system for enhanced performance and cleaner, more fuel efficient riding.

Both Scrambler 1200 models also feature a high first major service interval of
10,000 miles/16,000 km.

CATEGORY DOMINATING CAPABILITY

Taking the capability to the highest level, the Scrambler 1200s feature a class-leading standard of rider focused technology, including:

  • 2nd generation TFT instruments
Both models feature Triumph’s latest generation full-colour TFT instruments,
with a stylish design and two information layout design themes that can be personalised. This includes an all-new feature that allows the rider to update
the start-up screen message with their name.
  • Up to 6 riding modes, including ‘Off-Road Pro’
Both models feature Road, Rain, Off-Road, Sport and Rider-configurable riding modes which adjust the throttle response, ABS settings and traction control setting to suit rider preference and riding conditions.

On top of these 5 modes, the Scrambler 1200 XE also features the ‘Off-Road Pro’ mode, which delivers our most off-road focused set up for advanced adventure riding and scrambling. The ‘Off-Road Pro’ mode turns ABS and traction control off, and uses the ‘Off-Road’ throttle map.

  • Optimised Cornering ABS – supported by an IMU (XE only)

Exclusive to the Scrambler XE is the Optimised Cornering ABS, fitted as standard.
This maintains the optimum braking performance, whatever the lean angle.
The Scrambler 1200 XC features switchable ABS and its three ABS modes are selected manually via the Rider-configurable riding mode.

  • Optimised Cornering Traction Control – supported by an IMU (XE only)

The Scrambler 1200 XE also features Optimised Cornering Traction Control as standard, which automatically adapts the level of traction control depending on the riding conditions. This maintains the optimum level of traction control for the lean angle of the bike.
The Scrambler XC features instead switchable traction control with five ride modes, which are selected manually via the Rider-configurable riding mode.

  • IMU – Inertial Measurement Unit (XE only)

An advanced Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), developed in partnership with Continental, supports the optimum function of the Optimised Cornering ABS and Traction Control on the Scrambler 1200 XE. This takes constant measurements of roll, pitch, yaw, lean angle and acceleration rates, responding with appropriate active safety features.

  • All LED lighting with *DRL headlight

Both Scrambler 1200 models come with all LED lighting, including 5 inch headlight, tail light with new more attractive diffused opacity detailing, and indicators (in applicable markets).

The headlight also incorporates LED Daytime Running Lights (*in applicable markets) which provides excellent visibility and a distinctive light profile.

  • Illuminated backlit switches
The switches on both Scrambler models are backlit from LEDs housed inside
the switch cubes, enhancing rider interaction and improving control by giving
a soft glow in all lighting conditions.
  • Torque assist clutch
Designed to reduce clutch lever effort for the rider, bringing a lighter touch and feel to the clutch and making it easier to ride, and for longer.
  • Keyless ignition
Triumph’s keyless ignition system is fitted as standard on both models. The system recognises the proximity of the keyless fob and then enables ignition via the switch cube mounted start button. There is also the ability to disable the key’s wireless transmission function at the touch of a button for even greater security.
  • Heated gripsHeated grips are also fitted as standard to the Scrambler 1200 XE, and are available as an accessory on the Scrambler 1200 XC. These are neatly integrated with a button on the left hand grip providing greater rider comfort, with two modes.
  • Cruise controlElectronic cruise control is fitted as standard to both Scrambler models. This is
a single button system fitted into the left hand switch cube. This feature can be easily accessed while riding for maximum convenience and safety.
  • USB charging
Both new Scramblers feature a 5 vault USB power socket for charging personal equipment. This is integrated into a new foam lined storage box under the seat.
  • World’s first integrated GoPro control system

A world’s first for any motorcycle – Triumph introduces an integrated GoPro control system, facilitating GoPro camera operation, which is facilitated by an accessory fitted connectivity Bluetooth module.

The connection and control is displayed on the TFT instruments, enabling
intuitive video and photo operation via the switchgear.

  • Turn-by-turn navigation system
Another Triumph first comes with the introduction of an integrated turn-by-turn navigation system powered by Google™ – their first motorcycle manufacturer partnership. The navigation system is facilitated through an accessory fitted Bluetooth connectivity module.
Once the rider has selected the route on the Triumph app and set-off, the instruments present turn symbols on the screen using simple graphic icons.
With this system, the rider has at their disposal a navigation system, a route-planner, their final destination and points of interest such as hotels, petrol
    stations and restaurants.
  • Triumph app

For iOS and Android phones, riders can download for free the all new Triumph app, which delivers the connected navigation function. The navigation, route planner, final destination and points of interest (hotels, fuel, restaurants etc.) are all controlled by the rider through this app.

  • Integrated phone and music operation

The new Scrambler 1200s both feature full Bluetooth phone integration, with clear display on the colour TFT instruments, and intuitive phone operation via the switchgear, allowing the rider to select music, control the volume and take calls.
This is facilitated through an accessory fitted connectivity Bluetooth module.

Darker, Meaner, Stronger

Following the overwhelming success of the Bonneville Bobber – the fastest selling motorcycle in
Triumph’s 115-year history, the company has taken the model to new heights for the 2018 model
year, with the darker, meaner and stronger Bonneville Bobber Black.

With all of the Bonneville Bobber’s beautiful unique features

  • Authentic custom style
  • Elegant engineering innovation
  • Category defining capability
  • Thrilling hot rod ride and sound

Now with even more attitude

  • More aggressive and more muscular stance with a “fat” 16-inch front wheel (vs 19-
inch on the Bobber) and chunkier 47mm front forks (vs 41mm on the Bobber)
  • Fully blacked out style, detailing and finish across the whole bike

And even higher specification

  • Category-leading twin disc front brakes with Brembo calipers
  • Higher specification chunky Showa cartridge forks
  • Higher specification full LED headlight with distinctive daytime running light
  • And single button cruise control as standard

An unparalleled success
Launched to international acclaim in 2016, the award-winning Bonneville Bobber is loved by
customers and enthusiasts worldwide. Inspired by the original post-war Bobber movement of
stripped back, hard tail motorcycles tuned to the extreme for maximum performance, the
Bonneville Bobber has stunning handcrafted custom style and a thrilling hot rod ride. With its
1200cc High Torque Bonneville engine with distinctive Bobber tune, it is selling out in dealerships
all over the world. And because Triumph was there from the start with the most powerful and
lightweight bikes around, the new Bonneville Bobber has absolute peerless authenticity.

Now taking the Bobber to new heights, Triumph’s Bobber Black delivers much more.

Authentic custom styling, now even more aggressive
With imposing poise, distinguished presence and the iconic Bobber silhouette, the Bobber Black
shares the Bobber’s low, muscular and minimalist stance – purposeful, distinctive, and stripped
back. Featuring all the classic hallmarks of a Bobber, the Bobber Black’s single seat and hard tail
look are teamed with wide flat bars for intuitive handling, minimal bodywork and sculpted
Bonneville tank, minimal fenders with centre ridge, and authentic wire spoked wheels.

The Bobber Black features a host of fully blacked out details and finishes. These include:
• Black painted exhaust (silencers, headers and upper finned casting)
• Black anodised brake pedal and footrests
• Black anodised gear lever
• Black plated gear linkage
• Black anodised brake and clutch levers
• Black painted handlebars, with black anodised risers and clamps
• Black painted seat pan
• Black powder coated engine covers, cam cover and sprocket cover
• Black chrome plated headlight rim
• Black painted wheel hubs

Carrying over all of the beautiful Bobber details, the Bobber Black boasts an authentic battery
box with heritage-inspired cover and stainless steel strap, classic rear ‘drum brake’ inspired hub,
rear mudguard loop, side-mounted ignition barrel, bar end mirrors and a premium branded
locking fuel cap. Plus an exquisitely sculpted top yoke, carb-styled twin throttle bodies and gloss
black bullet indicators.

Arriving in two alluring colour options, the Bobber Black is available in either a classic gloss Jet
Black or a stylish and contemporary Matt Jet Black.

Elegant engineering innovation, now even higher specification
Raising the bar in terms of specification, the Bonneville Bobber Black delivers characterful and
class-defining riding dynamics.

Triumph’s highest specification brakes in the Bonneville line up with ABS as standard; the
Bobber Black has category leading 310mm twin discs on the front with twin Brembo two-piston
calipers and a single rear disc setup with single piston caliper. The suspension also sees an
upgrade from the Bobber spec with chunky 47mm Showa cartridge front forks, offering 90mm
front wheel travel for improved feel and feedback. The new “fat” 16-inch front wheel, still with
classic wire spokes, black rims, and the specially-developed Avon Cobra tyres, gives the Bobber
Black its meaner and more muscular stance.

As well as the considerable specification upgrades, the Bobber Black retains the elegant
engineering innovations now synonymous with the Bobber – like the beautiful and distinctive
floating aluminium seat pan with cantilever support, the adjustable riding position, the elegant
monoshock RSU with linkage, the distinctive ‘swing cage’ for that hard-tail look and the clean line
hidden technology packaging.

Accessible for any size of rider, the Bobber Black has a low seat height of just 688mm providing
excellent ergonomics and a confidence-inspiring low centre of gravity.

Category defining capability, now with even more technology
The front end of the Bobber Black is transformed with the new 5” full-LED headlight with unique
LED daytime running light* pattern (DRL) and charming Triumph maker’s mark triangle branding
integrated within the headlight cluster. Longer distance cruising is also easier on the Bobber
Black, thanks to cruise control as standard, easily accessible as a single button elegantly
moulded into the left-hand switch cube.

Complementing these upgrades are a suite of rider-focused technologies carried over from the
Bobber and sensitively incorporated to ensure clean-line packaging – like the Road and Rain
riding modes, both delivering full power, and the switchable traction control for maximum safety
and rider control. On top of that is the torque assist clutch which reduces pulling effort at the lever
to help prevent rider fatigue, the durable and power efficient all-LED lighting (rear light, indicators
and number plate light), and a state of the art immobiliser with transponder incorporated into the
premium Triumph badged key for maximum security.

Stylishly minimal and angle adjustable, the Bobber Black’s beautiful single clock has a machined
dial face and multi-function display controlled by easily reachable fingertip controls.

As with all Triumphs in the Modern Classics range, the new Bonneville Bobber Black is liquidcooled,
reducing emissions and offering a high first major service interval of 10,000 miles (16,000
Km). For added piece of mind, it also features the latest immobiliser with the transponder fitted
into the premium Triumph badged key.

Standard Equipment:
