Triumph’s official adventure partner, Globebusters invites you to an incredible nine-day, 1,600-mile tour to the Tridays festival in Neukirchen, Austria.

The tour starts on the 21st June, taking you across some of Europe’s most spectacular routes. From the rolling hills of the Ardenne to the Vosges Mountains, the Rhine to the Black Forest and, of course, over the spectacular Alpine passes.

Arriving in time for the the 24th, the Tridays weekend offers live music, guided ride-outs, the thrills of the ‘Ace Race’, test-rides, festive food and drink and much much more.

Day1: UK to Bouillon. (200 miles)
Ride the rolling hills and rural back roads of the Ardennes to the first overnight stop in the small town of Bouillon.

Day 2: Bouillon – Baden-Baden (225 miles)
Twisting roads of the northern Vosges Mountains, then cross the Rhine near Baden-Baden, in the foothills of the Black Forest.

Day 3: Baden-Baden – Fussen (222 miles)
The famous B500 south through the Black Forest and then continue southeast towards the Bavarian Alps.

Day 4: Fussen – Bramberg (133 miles)
Plenty of alpine passes along our route to the Austrian Tyrol – this is spectacular mountain riding.

Day 5 & 6: Bramberg / Neukirchen
Two days off to enjoy the party atmosphere of Tridays!

Day 7: Neukirchen–Titisee (275 miles)
Head via Lake Constance and the southern edge of the Black Forest to Lake Titisee for some quiet relaxation and recovery!

Day 8: Titisee – Reims (283 miles)
The beautiful Regional Park of Ballons de Vosges, before the country back roads towards Gerardmer and onto Bar-le-Duc and Reims, heart of the Champagment region.

Day 9: Reims – Calais – UK (190 miles)
The Regional Park of L’Avesnois and Scarpe-Escaut, before a stop off in Arras for lunch, then onto Calais.

THRILLING NEW 1200cc ENGINE

The legendary character of the Thruxton comes to life through the all new 1200cc ‘high power’ 8 valve, parallel twin engine.

The all-new ‘low inertia – high performance’ six-speed engine features a lighter crank and airbox unique to the Thruxton R. With the pin-point accuracy and instant throttle response of Triumph’s next generation ride-by-wire fuel-injection, fed by authentic twin throttle bodies, the Thruxton spec engine delivers a massive peak torque figure of 120Nm at a low 4950 rpm – an amazing 62% more than the previous generation Thruxton.

 

BEAUTIFUL DETAILING

Both feature a unique fuel tank incorporating a ‘Monza’ cap (a first on any modern production bike), bullet seat and lightweight aluminum bar end mirrors, wheel rims and swinging arm. The Thruxton R features an additional painted seat cowl, polished top yoke, tank strap and clear anodized aluminum swinging arm. There are three Thruxton colour choices, Jet Black, Pure White or Competition Green, and two for the Thruxton R in Diablo Red or Silver Frost.

As the name suggests it delivers a massive peak torque figure of 80Nm at a low 3200 rpm – an amazing 18% more than the previous model, delivered low down and across the whole rev range.

“We are delighted to confirm that 2moroRider, Rhys Lawrey, completed his epic journey across the globe on Friday 17^th July. Covering 56,700 miles, 71 countries and six continents, Rhys has brought home not one but two world records.

The successful completion of Rhys’ trip, which he did on a Triumph Tiger 800XC, sees him become both the youngest person to circumnavigate the world on a motorbike and the world record holder for the most consecutive capital cities visited on a motorcycle.

The monumental trip culminated at the Houses of Parliament, where he was greeted by Lord Digby Jones, Triumph’s chairman, Councillor The Lady Flight, Lord Mayor of Westminster, and representatives from The Prince’s Trust – his nominated charity.

Starting his journey aged just 22 in May 2014, Rhys has since travelled some of the best and worst roads in the world, tackling extreme temperatures, treacherous terrain and gruelling weather conditions. His trip saw him travel through deserts, mountains and jungle, no mean feat, even on his trusty Tiger 800, aptly named ‘Tigger’. The journey also saw him celebrate two birthdays, turning 23 in China and 24 in Amsterdam.

‘Tigger’ didn’t miss a beat either, with only standard service items required over the 56,000 plus miles. This is a real testament to the durability and reliability of the Tiger 800, on such an arduous journey.

For Rhys a significant motivator for the trip was about inspiring other young people and as such he has been raising money for the Prince’s Trust on route.

Founded in 1976 by The Prince of Wales, The Prince’s Trust has become the UK’s leading youth charity, offering a range of opportunities to 13-30 year olds who are unemployed or struggling at school and at risk of exclusion. Their goal is to inspire young lives, which fit perfectly with Rhys’ overall ambition.

EXPLORER TOPS RiDER POWER SURVEY 2014!

Triumph’s flagship adventure bike has been awarded one of the top industry accolades topping the RiDER Power survey 2014 with an outstanding 90.64%.

Using ratings from owners the Tiger Explorer was sent to top spot in both the adventure-tour class and overall classes in RiDE magazine’s customer satisfaction survey.

The Tiger 800XC also came a very respectable fourth in the same category with five other Triumphs in the overall top 50.
